“1987. Future stopped. Power left my limbs, then my marrow, then the places in me that named myself dancer. I collapsed. Just as he did. My inner world closed. Movement, my first nourishment, turned traitor and fled.”
[#8 of my book G.-Thresholds]

QIGONG –

After years, qigong helped me to reconnect with life.

Qi means life force energy, something that is necessary for us humans to survive. The complete universe is made out of it. You are qi and you are surrounded by it. Gong means ability, or skill. So, through qigong you learn to gain some skill in doing something with this life force.

The 3 pillars of qigong are

  • physical movement, the structure of your body
  • the breath and how you use it to support that structure
  • the mind, its intentions and fluctuations

TAICHI –

I am not easy going when it comes to teaching – I want my students to achieve their maximum potential. I bow to all who had the bravery to frequent my classes during the 18 years I have been running my training school in the Netherlands.

Taichi, a moving meditation – one of the methods I taught.

All parts of the body must be in motion, light, agile, and interconnected. The breathing energy must be stimulated. The mind must be inwardly concentrated. [Classical text concerning the essence of Taichi]

The universe is dancing – every cell of the body is dancing – your rhythm is just waiting to be recognized.

TOG CHÖD –

Negative emotions are not your enemy. They have great power. Read that again.

Tog means thought, and Chöd means to cut, or to liberate.

Tog Chöd, also called the wisdom sword is a dynamic meditation practice that works with the power of your anger.

It uses a wooden sword to cut through conceptual thoughts, fears and negative emotions. The strong physical movements force you to stop thinking and to start seeing clearer what is happening inside of you.

LU JONG –

Also named Tibetan yoga –

Lu means body. Jong translates to training or transformation.

The flowing movements of Lu Jong apply a gentle pressure to specific energy points to open up the subtle channels deep in the body and its organs. Rooted in Tibetan medicine and in Tantrayana and Bön traditions, this ancient practice combines movement, breathwork, and focused awareness, to release physical and emotional blockages.

In the west, we know we need to take care for the physical body, but we do not fully understand that the health of the physical body depends on the health of the subtle body, a unique energy system operating within your physical form.

You are not living inside your body –
your body is living inside you –
